A free browser game that teaches crypto through hands-on gameplay
Blockchain Botany is a casual idle game where you manage a Martian greenhouse. You plant seeds, wait for them to grow, then harvest them for 💎 Diamonds — the in-game currency. Along the way every plant teaches you a real blockchain concept, from Genesis Blocks to Smart Contracts to DeFi.
No downloads, no crypto wallet, no experience needed. Everything runs in your browser.

Leveling Up
Your greenhouse earns XP every time you harvest or collect a stake:
- Harvest → +10 XP
- Collect Stake → +20 XP
Each level requires 1.5× more XP than the last (starting at 100 XP). Level 3 unlocks the Custom Seed Lab.
Pot States
- Empty — tap to plant a seed
- Growing — timer counting down, can't interact yet
- Ready 🟢 — tap to harvest or stake
- Staked 📈 — locked for the stake period; tap to see remaining time
- Expired ⚠️ — plant missed its 72-hour harvest window; tap to clear it
Pro tip: Expand your pots early. More pots = more plants growing in parallel = much faster diamond income.

Stake = staking in crypto. Just like locking tokens in a validator, you commit your plant for a longer period in exchange for a bigger reward. It teaches the real mechanics of Proof of Stake.

Harvest yields 1.5× more diamonds between 6am and 6pm local time. Harvest at night for the base rate, or wait until morning for the bonus — just like crypto markets have peak trading hours.

The harvest button is disabled from 6am to 6pm. You can only collect between 6pm and 6am. Plan ahead — the plant can keep growing past ready state without penalty.

Unlock new species by spending seeds and diamonds in the Seed Bank
Each plant starts locked. To unlock it, tap Unlock Plants in the Seed Bank tab. You'll need both seeds of lower rarities and diamonds. Once unlocked, you can plant that species anytime you have a seed.

Unlocks at Greenhouse Level 3 — design your own plant species
Reach Level 3 to unlock the Seed Lab. Spend diamonds to create a unique plant with a name you choose, an emoji you pick, and a rarity tier that sets its growth time and rewards.

Custom plants use the same growth and reward scaling as base plants of the same rarity. Choose an uncommon custom seed if you want a good balance of speed and yield. Custom seeds can be deleted from the Seed Bank at any time.

The Community Garden is a shared project where all players pool diamonds and seeds toward a common goal within a deadline. It teaches DeFi, liquidity pools, and community governance through hands-on play.
How It Works
- A project appears with requirements (e.g., 500 💎 total + 20 uncommon seeds) and a deadline.
- Players contribute any amount from their own reserves.
- When the deadline hits, the project resolves based on total contributions.

💡 Tips & Strategy
Get ahead faster with these approaches
Stack your pots. The biggest lever in the early game is having more pots running in parallel. Spend your first diamonds on pot expansions before unlocking more plants — throughput beats variety early on.
Stake when you can walk away. Staking gives ~2.5× more diamonds than harvesting. If you're going to sleep or stepping away from the game for a few hours, always stake before you go.
Never miss a daily goal. The mystery pack from daily completion is worth more than its cost — it's free seeds that accelerate unlocking the next rarity tier.
Build toward uncommons before rares. Rare unlocks cost 5 uncommon seeds. Grow those seeds first with blue ferns and ember moss before trying to reach rare-tier plants — it's the critical bottleneck.
Solar Bloom + morning harvest = massive yield. If you plant Solar Bloom at night and harvest at 9am the next day, you get the full daytime 1.5× boost on a fast-growing plant. Great for diamond farming once you hit rare tier.
Don't let plants expire. A plant that sits unharvested for more than 72 hours enters an expired state and must be cleared without reward. Set reminders for Ultra-Rare plants with long growth times.
Community Garden is worth it. Contributing a small amount (10–20 💎) to a project that succeeds is nearly always profitable. Watch the progress bar — if the community is close to 100%, top it off.
